managing diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic disease which is characterized by high blood glucose (sugar) levels resulting from the body not producing insulin or using it properly. Insulin is a
hormone produce by the pancreas which is required for glucose (sugar) to enter into our cells and be converted to energy.

Diabetics who suffer from type 1 diabetes, their pancreas no longer makes insulin, meaning their beta cells have been destroyed. Therefore, they require insulin shots to assist in converting glucose (sugar) to energy after each meal.

Diabetics who suffer from type 2 diabetes, their pancreas makes insulin, but their bodies do not respond to it. For these people they required to take diabetes pills or insulin shots to assist their body to use glucose (sugar) for energy.
